The main factors affecting the high temperature resistance of wear-resistant ceramics
As an important part of industrial anti-wear ceramics, its high temperature resistance has always been one of the focuses of attention. Especially in some working conditions with large temperature changes or high ambient temperature, selecting the correct type of wear-resistant ceramics and the correct installation method is of great significance for safe production and energy saving and high efficiency. So what are the main factors that affect the high temperature resistance of wear-resistant ceramics?
The material purity of wear-resistant ceramics
Wear-resistant ceramics mostly refer to alumina wear-resistant ceramics, in which the purity of alumina directly affects the high temperature resistance of wear-resistant ceramics. Alumina wear-resistant ceramics are sintered at a high temperature environment of 1700℃, and their high temperature resistance is excellent. However, in practical applications, if the purity of alumina is not high enough, the ceramic will contain other elements, and these materials will show different thermal expansion and contraction performance at high temperature or sudden cooling because of different properties. When the temperature change is gentle or the range of change is small, this situation is not obvious, but when the temperature change is drastic or when the high temperature of 800, 900 or even thousands of degrees is encountered, this change will have a great impact, so it is necessary to choose ceramics with higher purity.
Impact on the installation method
The installation method of wear-resistant ceramics also has an impact on the high temperature resistance of ceramics. For example, using ordinary ceramic adhesive to paste ceramics, it can withstand the high temperature range of about 150 ° C, and some better ceramic adhesive can raise the temperature to 350 ° C, but once it exceeds the temperature range of the adhesive, the viscosity of the adhesive will drop sharply, easy to cause the ceramic to fall off. Compared with the paste method, the wear resistant ceramics installed by the stud welding method and the dovetail card slot can withstand the high temperature of 750℃.
Composite materials with wear-resistant ceramics
Wear-resistant ceramics are often combined with other materials, such as metal, rubber and so on. In this case, we must consider the temperature resistance of composite materials when judging the high temperature resistance of wear- resistant ceramics, such as ceramic rubber composites are not suitable for use in high temperature conditions.
To sum up, there are three main factors affecting the high temperature resistance of wear-resistant ceramics, which are the material purity of the ceramic itself, the installation method of the ceramic and the composite material with wear-resistant ceramics. These factors need to be considered comprehensively when selecting wear-resistant ceramics.
