The difference between wear-resistant ceramic pipes and traditional steel pipes
In the field of industrial pipeline transportation, Chemshun wear resistant ceramic pipes and traditional steel pipes have their own advantages. In terms of wear resistance, the strength of traditional steel pipes is limited. When facing high-velocity, solid particle-containing materials, such as mining slurry and coal powder in power plants, the pipe wall is easily eroded and worn, and obvious wear marks appear in a short time, seriously affecting the service life. The Chemeshun wear-resistant ceramic pipe is lined with high-hardness ceramic, with a Mohs hardness of about 9, second only to diamond. Its wear resistance is 5-10 times that of ordinary steel pipes, which can effectively cope with harsh working conditions and greatly reduce the number of maintenance and replacement.
In terms of corrosion resistance, traditional steel pipes are prone to rust in humid or corrosive media environments, and even with anti-corrosion coatings, they are difficult to resist long-term erosion. The Chemshun ceramic lining of the wear-resistant ceramic pipe is chemically stable and acid-resistant and alkali-resistant, but if the metal connection parts are not well sealed, there are hidden dangers in a strong corrosive environment. In addition, traditional steel pipes are heavy and inconvenient to transport and install, while wear-resistant ceramic pipes are relatively light and easier to install. In terms of overall cost, although the purchase unit price is high, the long-term use cost is low.
