The ratio of ceramic grinding ball in ball mill of cement plant
As the ceramic ball is used in the fine grinding bin, the gradation method is the same as that of the steel ball in the fine grinding bin. But because its specific gravity is only about one half of the steel ball, so it has higher requirements on the moisture, fineness and wear-ability of materials.
Here we pingxiang chemshun ceramics afford the data of ceramic grinding ball and steel ball/cylpebs using ratio in ball mill for your reference as bellows list:
Ceramic | G(g) | Cylpebs | G(g) | Steel | G(g) |
Φ25 | 29.4 | 18*18 | 35.7 | Φ20 | 32.7 |
Φ20 | 15.1 | 16*16 | 25.1 | Φ17 | 20.1 |
Φ17 | 9.3 | 14*14 | 16.8 | Φ15 | 13.8 |
Φ15 | 6.4 | 12*12 | 10.6 | Φ12 | 7.1 |
Φ13 | 4.1 | 10*10 | 6.1 | Φ10 | 4.1 |
Φ10 | 1.9 | 8*8 | 3.1 |
From the table, the Φ 10 ceramic ball is too light, it is unfavorable in general conditions.
Chemshun conduct experiments on each particle size of various materials to find out the optimal diameter of the corresponding ceramic ball.

Note: Data of clinker and slag plants are different.
After finding the optimum diameter of ceramic ball corresponding to each grain grade of various materials, the gradation can be carried out in the same way as the gradation of fine grinding bin of steel ball.
