Compared with rubber,manganese steel abrasion resistant materials, alumina ceramic have more advantages as wear protective materials, but in actual application, alumina  abrasion resistant lining will suffer crack when much heavy materials handled. which becuase alumina ceramic linings have lower toughness.

ZTA ceramics is combination of alumina ceramic and zironia ceramics. alumina ceramic has high hardness, zirconia ceramics have high toughness, so the ZTA ceramics is excellent compound with high strength and toughness. in normally application,the cost of purchasing zirconia ceramics is too high, and ZTA composite ceramics is much lower than zironia ceramics, so more and more industrial company prefer ZTA ceramics as  abrasion resistant linings
